| October 3, 2007: Working on about five different movie concepts right now, along with a high school musical based on the Super Mario Brothers video game series. Nintendo already gave us the verdict that they don't license their stuff for plays, but the companies legal department doesn't pursue people who do it, either. Hopefully, we're going to do such an awesome job on the musical that we'll get a publication house to go to bat for us to get them to license it. Oh, and I also am working on an idea for a graphic novel, but as of yet, I haven't found a graphic artist to work on it with me... June 10, 2007: Open Mike Night scheduled to be released through Amazon.com some time this fall! February 18, 2008: Because of legal issues, the Super Mario Brothers project is gone. I will now be working with composer Douglas Buchanon on an adaptation of another work, and the result will be unveiled at Richardson High School in January, 2009. Hopefully, it will be published shortly afterward. May 11, 2008: Doug and I have decided that we want to adapt Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre Dame as a musical for next summer. Strangely enough, there is not a good adaptation of the book out there, and it's an incredible story. We begin working on it this summer and have already procured a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts to help with expenses. August 23, 2008: From the Dark, an independent horror film I had the good fortune to work on with Tom Zembrod, Todd Jenkins, and Jon Keeyes, is now finished. The website is up and a fun little trailer available. More information is on the Tales from the Script home page. |
